Insight Meditation Yoga

w/ Paul Cheevers |  This practice is first and last a sitting meditation practice. Gentle mindful movement (asana) flows from the sitting, standing and lying postures back to the posture of seated meditation. A ninety minute class generally consists of seated guided meditation, mindful movement including standing, walking and lying, followed by a seated meditation; about half is lightly guided meditation and half is guided yoga postures. Breath awareness accompanies throughout this practice. Recommended for individuals interested in integrating a mindful sitting practice with slow and simple mindful yoga postures. Plenty of chairs, cushions and benches are available for sitting. Some yoga mats are available at the Center your welcome to bring your own.

The Therevada Buddhist practices of Insight Meditation accompanied by the teachings taught by the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram of India are at the roots of this practice.

This is a Drop-in class, which means you are welcome to attend when you are able, donations may be deposited at the door. The Registration button that is sometimes included below and which may also be found on the Registration Page is an optional way of donating for a full series of classes.
